UNDERSTANDING WRIT OF MANDAMUS

Asking for action
when an application stalls.

A writ of mandamus is a court order compelling a government official or agency to perform a duty owed to the person bringing the case. In some immigration-delay cases, people ask a federal court to require action on a pending application.

It seeks action, not guaranteed approval. A long wait alone does not establish a valid claim. Whether relief is available depends on the application, facts and applicable law; a decision may still be a denial.

GUIDED PREPARATION. YOUR CONTROL.

A system to support you. Decisions that stay yours.

  • A guided preparation system: planned AI-assisted learning, material organization and drafting help you work through each step. The software provides educational support rather than legal advice or representation.
  • You decide whether, when and where to file. The system helps you understand the process and organize your preparation around the choices you make.
  • Your facts, your review: AI helps prepare the materials; you check the details and confirm what enters your documents. The planned pilot is self-guided; human or attorney review would need to be arranged independently.
  • A clearer preparation process helps you approach the next step with more understanding. Agency action, timing, approval and court outcomes remain outside the system’s control and cannot be guaranteed.
  • Your interest helps shape what we build next. Supported application types, courts and access will be announced separately; joining records interest rather than confirming eligibility or reserving access.
